Job Summary:
The primary function of the Ultrasound Tech is to perform ultrasonic imaging and related procedures that demonstrate anatomy for interpretation by the consulting radiologist at the request of a licensed practitioner for Physicians Medical Center following established standards and practices. The Ultrasound Tech communicates and collaborates with the radiologist. Graduate of a two year American Registry of Radiologic Technologists approved program for Radiologic Technology and / or sonography program. Current Radiographer licensure from the state of Louisiana. Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensed by ARDMS and certified in one of the following: Abdomen, Breast, GYN, or Vascular.
Current Basic Life Support certification.
